Our backgrounds and heritages are what make us unique, right? And by no way are we trying to pin people up against each other, but there are just some things that we Latinas do better. Of course, this is just in my opinion, at least. But let's get real for a minute. There are many beautiful Latina celebs out there who are ready to prove that we are just more than stereotypes.
Everyone is different, but there are some things about our culture and our ancestry that are burned into our characters. Whether you learned it from your Abuela, or realized you had some kind of quirk, being Latina is so much more than just what part of the world your relatives are from. Not only does the Latino community play a major role in American history, but in the history of the world as well.

You know that girl across the room in the highest heels of the season? Plus, she struts in them like she's been doing it her whole life. It's probably because she has been doing it her whole life, but she's finally rocking her own pair instead of her mom's like she used when she was a kid.
Yeah, she's probably a Latina. What is it with Latina women daring to take on the least supportive stilettos without spraining an ankle. Oh, and she can stand in them for hours too? Yup, she's either Latina or a unicorn. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to watch her prance around and pick up some tips for yourself so you can rock your own pair of sky-high heels too.
15 They Can Cook And Entertain Like A Pro
Cooking is not just a simple task, it's a complicated process at times. We are busy spicing up and marinating everything, plus we love to play some music while putting together delicious concoctions as well. And of course whenever there's music playing in the background we just can't help ourselves. A little hip swing here and a twirl there. Suddenly we are dancing and cooking.
This happens all too often. But frankly, there's something about enjoying the actual act of cooking that makes every meal taste much better. It's no ordinary family meal. We put a little of our rhythm into everything as well. If we are taking too long in the kitchen, there's good chance it's because we're taking our sweet time enjoying a little dance here and there.

Heck, have no fury like a woman's wrath-oh, and she's Latina? No way, there's no way of getting out of this one man. Latina ladies out there, can we agree on the fact that we are very passionate? Therefore, our feelings seem multiplied compared to others. So it's no surprise that when we're mad… we are SOOO mad.
Let's just say it's safe to steer clear of an angry Latina. Once my boyfriend gets me mad, he knows better than to attempt to even speak to me until I cool down. It's just a not a good idea to poke a lion, right? So, then, use that same kind of thinking with your Latina girlfriend. She is not having any excuses, ifs, ands, or buts. That's just the way it is.
13 They Are Never Bored
Do you have a Latina best friend? Then there's a good chance that you've noticed that she is the life of the party. You will never be bored with a Latina bff by your side. Life is simply way too short to spend a single moment of it being bored. So, even if we have to go out of our way to do so, we are adamant on having fun and making the most out of even the simplest moments.
There is no such thing as a dull moment when a Latina is around. We make our own fun, especially when we're surrounded by the people we love. A simple get together can easily turn into one your most memorable nights. It's not about what we're doing, but about who we're with.
12 They Can Totally Throw Shade
As if you really needed yet another not to get on a Latina's bad side. Yes, you bet that we can throw shade out there like the best of them. Think of all the lovely mess on Twitter that you may spend hours scrolling through with a bag of popcorn. Latinas do this all the time but in real time. Again, stay on our good sides to prevent an epic shade fest from hitting the fan.
Things can get messy and crazy real quick. Best case scenario, the shade we are throwing has nothing to do with you directly and just focuses on the funny part of things. Hey, we love to laugh! 11 They Know How To Embrace Their Curves
Don't ever talk to a Latina about diets, because we just don't believe in them. Everything in moderation of course, but one thing remains true: we love carb-loaded bread and fried or baked goods. Life just doesn't get any better than that.
A little extra cushion on the hips never bothers us either. Latina's embrace their curves because guess what, that's what real and most women have: curves! And if that bothers you, that's just too bad. Curves are beautiful, and as a culture, we fully embrace them. Today's beauty standards have wreaked havoc on our minds. Not everyone is meant to a size zero, and to think that you have to fall under this category just to be considered beautiful is sad and ridiculous. Take it from us: real women have curves.
10 They Can And Will Set You Straight
Again… just don't get on our bad side. I am surprised by how many times and ways I have to repeat this, but it is pretty necessary, unfortunately. Think of this as just stemming from our innate passions. We are passionate women, of course. It's what we're known for. So, if we feel annoyed and like you're just totally wrong, then rest assured that can and will set you straight.
No matter how much attitude we throw at you, just stay calm and see this as a lesson. Hopefully you will learn to mind your manners and remain on our good sides from now on. Otherwise, you are definitely in for a rude awakening. As I said earlier, we are very passionate women. And of course, we love as fiercely as possible. Just as important as it is for us to be recognized when we're angry, we want you to recognize just how much we love you. Which is probably unconditional. Lucky you.
Latinas are big-time family-focused women. It's something we have instilled in us since we are children. Family getting together is a must Duh, we drive each other crazy and probably spend most of that time arguing with one another. However, family is precious. If we seem to fall in love too easily or want to see as much good as possible in our relationships, then blame it on the fact that we are simply hopeless romantics. We are as hopeless as they can get. Those dramatic telenovelas that you love to make fun is part of the reason why. We spent our lives thinking life had to be as ridiculously dramatic and romantic as possible, and now there's no stopping us.
You can't blame a girl for loving too hard, right? Either way, if you have ever felt wooed by a Latina, consider yourself lucky. It means you probably fit this impossible mold that was embedded into our minds as little girls watching our favorite telenovelas with our sisters or parents.
7 They Know How To Rock Their Texture
Latinos have a very wide variety of unique traits and look. Some are fair-skinned, while others are dark-skinned; some have pin straight hair while others have tight little curls. We're all different. And after years of messing around with various styles and cuts, you can bet we know how to embrace our natural texture.
Trends come and go, but we only get one head full of hair. So, we try our best to do what we can with it. Rather than risk ruining it by trying to turn it into something it isn't, we spend a good amount of time researching the best products and nailing down a routine. No matter how strenuous the routine may seem, we never have a problem with sticking with whatever works for us.
6 They Put In All Of The Work
These days Latinas may catch a lot of flak in our society. But that hasn't, and won't, stop us. If we need to work twice as hard or twice as much to get attention, then we'll do it. We are not afraid of committing ourselves to causes that we fully believe in. Good things aren't always easy, and we know that for a fact. So, we will do whatever we have to do to come out on top.
This can be especially true in relationships, not just career-related situation. Many times Latina put extra effort into their relationships to ensure that things go right, and make the best out of any situation. We will wear the pants if our man is down, and we won't throw it in his face later.
5 They Can Make A Mountain Out Of A Mole Hill
Drama, what drama? Oh yeah, that's my middle name. Just kidding, of course. But yes, if you've noticed that a certain Latina in your life tends to lean to the dramatic side, don't be surprised. IT happens. Again, blame it on our endless passion. We tend to make a mountain out of a molehill, even if it doesn't benefit us at all.
Think Sofia Vergara as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, she plays her role very authentically. We scream loudly over bugs, and of course when we're just a little mad. If it's a spider, we may even cry. 4 They're Always Ready To Bust A Move
Is that music playing down the street? Oh, is someone's headphones a little too loud? Are you tapping your leg to a rhythm? We can pretty much take any kind of noise and make a song out of it in our heads. Enough of a song to move our bodies. Dancing is a major part of our culture. As Latinas, we will never understand any kind of music that you can't dance to. It just doesn't connect with us.
We need some kind of movement attached to rhythm otherwise our bodies are just left confused. We are the perfect kind of women to take out to a club or to pull others on the dance floor when everyone else is feeling too shy to even attempt to bust a move-out.
3 They Always Have The Last Word
No, no; if we are talking, then you are definitely not getting a word in. Oh, and the last word belongs to us, don't you dare try and take it. What exactly is it about the last word that seems so gratifying? Maybe it's the fact that you feel like if you get the last word, and the other person has no response then it's like they are clarifying subtly that you're right.
Yeah, that must be it. Either way, if you catch yourself in some kind of argument with a Latina, do yourself a favor and just let it go. We Latina's must get the last word, always. Whether we are wrong or right, our tongues can get pretty sharp so for all of our safeties, just let us get the last word and revisit the topic when we're calm again.
2 They Aren't Afraid To Get Real
Let's face it, life gets crazy sometimes. There's nothing wrong with displaying your emotions. Sure, the best place to do it is in the privacy of your own home, but we can't always make it there in time. So yeah, we will have a good cry at brunch or a shouting match on a sunny day in the park. We believe in living in the moment, and we aren't afraid to be real with you.
You can count on your Latina friend or girlfriend to always be honest with you, and tell you the truth when you need it. We will be upfront and honest. There's nothing better than having someone that you trust to fall back on. So let us be that person for you. We are totally up for the task!
